Two numbers come up most often on the Essence Extraction specification: 300%, and 3–4×. Many readers assume they are the same thing, and some read 300% as "three times the effect". Neither reading is correct.
300% is the essence concentration of Miracle Medicine's Essence Extraction Version of porcupine bezoar (also known as porcupine date). Several porcupine bezoars from the same batch are ground together, then Essence Extraction removes the impurities and concentrates the essence, bringing the impurity ratio to 0%. The weight per pack stays at 0.4 g, and absorption is approximately 3 to 4 times that of the traditional versions.
The explanation below starts with what is actually inside traditional porcupine bezoar powder, then covers what each of the two numbers describes and how the specification is produced.
The traditional version is what you would normally see in a Chinese medicine shop: the whole stone ground into powder and taken as it is.
A porcupine bezoar forms slowly inside the digestive tract of a wild porcupine that has been feeding on wild plants. So a single stone contains essence, but also undigested plant residue and other impurities. Grind the whole stone, and all of that ends up in the same pack of powder.
Think of eating fruit: you can pick out the seeds. With traditional porcupine bezoar powder, the impurities cannot be picked out — they go down with the essence.
According to the specification, Miracle Medicine’s traditional porcupine bezoar comes in two grades:
Grade A is cleaner than Grade B because the raw material is selected. But both are whole-stone powders, so the impurity ratio cannot reach zero, and there is natural variation between batches.

300% is essence concentration.Traditional Grade B is 60%, Grade A is 90%, and the Essence Extraction Version is 300%. The traditional versions are whole stones ground into powder, with essence and impurities mixed together. The Essence Extraction Version concentrates the essence and removes the impurities, which is how it reaches an essence concentration of 300% and an impurity ratio of 0%.
3 to 4 times refers to absorption. Absorption for the Essence Extraction Version is approximately 3 to 4 times that of the traditional versions. That is a separate specification, not the essence concentration.
"Absorption" here means how much essence the body can reach and use from the same 0.4 g.
In 0.4 g of the traditional version, part of the pack is impurities — 40% for Grade B — and that part is not essence. In 0.4 g of the Essence Extraction Version the impurity ratio is 0% and the essence has been concentrated, so the same amount of powder delivers more essence, and more of it is available to be absorbed.

Because no two stones are the same.
Porcupine bezoars form naturally, and the active-essence content inside each one differs. Colour, size and surface pattern are appearance only — they do not show how much essence is inside. Process the stones one by one, and every pack follows whichever stone it came from: one pack higher, the next lower.
So the first step at Miracle Medicine is to grind several porcupine bezoars from the same batch together.
Mixed together, the differences between individual stones average out. What comes out of grinding is one batch of base powder with a fairly even composition.
This step does not raise the concentration by itself. What it does is give the extraction step that follows the same starting point every time.
One common misunderstanding first: extraction is not picking impurities out of the powder one piece at a time. Impurities and essence are mixed through the powder, and neither hand-sorting nor sieving separates them properly.
Grinding and Essence Extraction are two different steps, and they change different things:
Changes particle size. However fine the powder is ground, the essence concentration and the impurity ratio stay the same.
Changes essence concentration and impurity ratio. The active components are drawn out of the base powder and concentrated, while impurities, plant residue and bacteria are removed.
Each batch of base powder is sent to the research institute in China, where Essence Extraction is carried out in a sterile, controlled environment. What comes out has an essence concentration of 300% and an impurity ratio of 0%.
This also explains why 300% cannot be achieved by adjusting the grinder. Finer powder simply means smaller particles; the essence concentration in the same 0.4 g does not go up.

Two things together: the same starting point, and testing before release.
The same starting point is the combined grinding described above. Traditional versions are whole stones ground individually, so natural variation between batches is expected. The Essence Extraction Version evens out one batch of raw material first, then runs the same process on it — which is how batch consistency holds: essence concentration 300% and impurity ratio 0%, every batch.
Testing before release means every batch undergoes independent third-party testing covering safety indicators such as heavy metals, and the test reports can be requested.
Put together, quality here no longer depends on picking a good-looking stone by eye. It becomes a set of specifications that can be measured, compared and repeated batch after batch.
Every pack is 0.4 g; the weight does not change. What differs between the three versions is essence concentration, impurity ratio, absorption and batch consistency.
Fineness only affects particle size. 300% is the essence concentration after Essence Extraction.
